Bordure
A downloadable game
You don’t ride. You decide.
Directeur is a cycling management game. You are the sports director, never a rider. You don’t steer, sprint or set wattage. You make a plan, send orders over the radio, and live with what comes back.
Run the race from the car
- Plan, then adapt. Before the start, give each rider a role: protect the leader, go in the break, save energy for the final climb. During the race, send new orders as things change.
- Orders take time to arrive. Every radio message travels, gets acknowledged, and is tracked rider by rider. A rider who has lost contact can’t carry out your order. Repeating it doesn’t make it louder.
- Hands off, if you want. Every race runs to a sensible finish without you after the start. Step in when you think you can do better.
Decide with imperfect information
You never see the race engine’s internal state, only what your sources tell you. Every gap and position shows where it came from (observed, reported, estimated or unknown) and how old it is. A gap clocked by the race motorbike a minute ago is not the same as a guess. The game makes sure you can tell them apart.
Rivals with no script
Rival teams follow the same rules, see the same imperfect information and make the same kinds of plans as you. No winner is decided in advance. Breakaways can stay away, favourites can crack, and a long-range attack can pay off.
Races are won in January
Between races, you run the team:
- build the season programme and pick which races matter,
- manage form, fatigue and training blocks,
- choose who starts, with staff advice that warns but never overrules you,
- scout, negotiate and sign riders, and handle the budget,
- build your team’s reputation over a multi-season career.
Built to be calm
A quiet, readable interface that shows what you need to decide and keeps the rest one click away. No flashing numbers, no fake urgency. Speed, pauses and presentation never change the result: the same seed and the same orders always give the same race.
